A Milestone Moment: Women in Wheels Takes Part in the First All-Female Track Session at Saywell Track Day

Some events are memorable because of the cars. Others because of the people. This one was both.

Women in Wheels was incredibly proud to attend the very first all-female track session hosted by Saywell Track Days — a milestone that reflects the growing number of women embracing performance driving and motorsport across the UK.

A welcoming step forward

Known for delivering professionally organised, friendly and genuinely enjoyable track experiences, Saywell Track Days have created an environment where drivers of all abilities can safely explore what their cars can really do — on one of the country’s best circuits.

By introducing an all-female session, they have taken another positive step towards making the track even more accessible and welcoming. It is exactly the kind of opportunity our community exists to champion.

An impressive line-up on track

Our members arrived with a selection of cars that perfectly showcased the diversity within our community. Throughout the session we saw the exhilarating performance of a McLaren, the precision and balance of a Porsche GT4 RS, the ever-popular BMW M2 and the unmistakable style of the rare Alfa Romeo Montreal.

Each car had its own personality. But the biggest story of the day wasn’t the machinery — it was the confidence growing behind every steering wheel.

Driving at your own pace

From first-time track drivers to those with more experience, every woman was encouraged to drive at her own pace, learn from the day and simply enjoy the experience.

The atmosphere was supportive from the very first briefing to the final chequered flag, with members sharing advice, celebrating one another’s achievements and proving that track days can be just as much about community as they are about performance.

This is exactly what we were created for

We’re passionate about giving women the confidence to enjoy their cars without judgement, whether that’s on a scenic road trip, at a social gathering or out on a race circuit. Experiences like this show what’s possible when barriers are removed and opportunities are created.

With thanks to Saywell Track Days

We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone at Saywell Track Days for making this session a reality. We know the planning that goes into organising a track day, and we’re grateful they chose to create space for something different. Judging by the smiles at the end of the day, it was an overwhelming success.

We genuinely hope this becomes a regular feature — because it’s clear there is both the enthusiasm and the community to support it. If your brand or circuit would like to work with our members, explore partnership opportunities.

How far we’ve come

For Women in Wheels, this wasn’t just another event on the calendar. It was a reminder of how far women have come in the automotive world — and how much further we can still go when we’re given the opportunity to drive, learn and enjoy the journey together. You can see what’s coming up on our events calendar.

Here’s to many more laps, many more friendships and many more firsts.
